Seasonal Laborer Wishek ND

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance and repair of track infrastructure on specified territory of railroad, using hand & track tools, materials, and equipment.

Inspect track and other railroad property/facilities
Repair and rebuild railroad track, using power and non-power hand tools.
Cut rail, manually compress ballast, remove/install ties, lift, roll, and adjust rails, and lift/carry track material with assistance.
Cut brush, trees, and vegetation.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

Operate proper electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic hand tools such as: drills, impact wrenches, jacks, power saws, grinders as well as non-powered equipment such as: shovels, picks, axes, cutters, and sledgehammers.

Basic Qualifications

18 years of age
Available to work full time up to (50 hrs./wk.)
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive company vehicles
Commercial Drivers License preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning, and pulling
Able to work on uneven surfaces; frequently climb on/off equipment; work on/around heavy/moving machinery; bend, walk, stand, and sit for extended time
Wear required personal protective equipment

Medical Requirements
