Shipping on DMVW
Car supply, marketing and pricing functions are primarily handled by CPR across DMVW’s system. Shippers on the Britton line also have access to Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF).
DMVW’s ramp at Arnold (4 miles north of I-94 and one half mile east of Hwy. 83) offers customers side loading and unloading capabilities.
Off Load Sites
DMVW sidings at Washburn, Moffit and Coleharbor offers customers potential side loading capabilities.
DMVW has multiple locations for long and short term storage available for railcars, including hazardous material cars. For more information on availability and rates contact the marketing department.
Lumber on the Britton Line
Lumber destined for the Britton Line may be shipped via CPR or BNSF. Lumber that includes CPR in the route is delivered to DMVW at Hankinson, ND, for furtherance to Britton. DMVW does not show in the route and CPR absorbs DMVW’s portion of the rate.
Lumber that includes BNSF in the route is delivered to DMVW at Aberdeen, SD, and is routed BNSF-Aberdeen, SD-DMVW. DMVW’s portion of the rate is billed to the customer. Shippers should check with BNSF lumber marketing personnel to determine if BNSF absorbs a portion of DMVW’s rate.
